Nymph
In collaboration with the National Film School at IADT, I was tasked with creating a set of film titles, a poster and social media branding for a final year student film. Nymph is a short horror film set in the rural Irish countryside, revolving around a teenage love triangle gone wrong, where nature takes its own dark revenge on the helpless young people involved. This project began in March of 2020 when everything first shut down and I had very limited materials within reach.

This set of film titles was inspired by work by Louise Gaffney and Ari Aster. I wanted to focus on the beauty of nature and the cyclical, creepy side of the circle of life. I began with manipulating dead and alive flowers through video, photography and finally through scanning them in which became my chosen route.
I created a dreamlike yet nightmarish world in which beautiful flowers were journeying through the space while being manipulated and distorted in strange ways, intending to make the audience question whether or not that was supposed to be happening. The use of distorted audio, which I collaborated with Cillian Jordan on, really emphasized the warped sense of time and space and helped to build the piece up to a climax.
