Seachtain na Gaeilge
Seachtain na Gaeilge is an international Irish language festival with Energia, which is the biggest celebration of our native language and culture that takes place in Ireland and many other countries every year. I art-directed and worked as lead designer on the TV ad and campaign for this project which launched in February 2022.

Many people associate speaking Irish with their school days. They know a few phrases and words, but few make an active effort to practice the language on a regular basis. This year, we wanted people to make speaking Gaeilge their new tradition on the 120th anniversary of SnaG. We showed our ambassadors embracing various new traditions and to drive home our message, we used visual references from the new medium that is TikTok. With bright visuals and sharp, dynamic transitions, we brought Irish into 2022 and encouraged everyone to join us.
We expanded our New Traditions concept onto socials with toungue-in-cheek translations of modern concepts, encouraging people to consider using the ancient language of Irish in modern subjects such as the Metaverse, NFTs and influencing.
Seachtain na Gaeilge was first held in 1902 and groups around the world celebrated 120 years of the festival this year. It encapsulated the pride of the Irish language community and inspires further generations to immerse themselves in our native tongue. With this campaign, we hoped to add a modern and fun element to the largest global celebration of Irish language and culture in Ireland.
